I am at my wits' end. I ordered a 3 piece sofa from Harveys which they promised would be delivered by CHRISTMAS! We are now in June. In that time they have managed to:

* LOSE our sofa, when they did deliver it was the WRONG COLOUR!
* The delivery men scuffed all the carpet and walked in with mud on their feet in March.
* Rude staff behaviour, I didn't feel comfortable in my own home.
* Parked so they blocked in my neighbour who was rushing to get out to an appointment! The way they drove off in a 30 mile an hour speed limit made me feel sick.

Please can someone tell me why, if they are members of the Furniture Ombudsman and must abide by their Code of Conduct - how they are still members and how they are still in business? I want to know who else would like this company investigated & has been treated really badly by them. How can you lose a sofa and then when you do deliver (months after the promised delivery date) it's the wrong colour. We were left sitting on garden chairs as we got rid of our old sofa to make room.

Please sign and share. Please help me. I just want good customer service for everyone.

"Ah my harveys saga - ordered a 3 seater sofa in December 2016. In May it was delivered and was noticeably damaged with scratches in the leather. Called customer services and was told that someone would come out to repair it. So I waited. He came. It could not be repaired. So I called again and they ordered a replacement cover. This tool 8 weeks to arrive and when the guy came to fit it... you guessed it... scratched up leather. So I called again. At this point they offered me a replacement sofa or more replacement cushions to which my response was why on earth would I wait a further 8 weeks to be presented with yet more dodgy goods. They said they would take the sofa away and cancel the transaction but that leaves me and my family with no where to sit for potentially 8 weeks while we wait for a sofa from elsewhere and I don’t have the disposable income to purchase a second hand sofa outright. The offer then was £170 deducted from my bill to be paid to the finance company and £50 compensation for my time spent off work to be in for the failed repair men. Reluctantly I took it having no other choice really and getting really sick and tired of having to hear the word harveys said in my house. The cheque came, the payment to the finance company did not. So I ring again and apparently it was put through but didn’t go through. Hmmmm! It’s has now been out through and I am assured it will work but if it doesn’t I can feel free to call back. I eagerly await what comes next! Avoid harveys at all costs is my advice for anyone sucked in by their brand name and attractive advertising because they are the lowest of the low. "

"Horrible service - Promised Delivery for 21st November - now only 1 chair arriving - rest is due in their warehouse 16th December then apparently they will contact me 1 to 2 weeks later to arrange delivery - makes a huge lie of their pre Christmas Delivery promise - they are a disgrace"

"Currently having problems major problems with a sofa bought 2 years ago. Too much to put down on here. But briefly... I have been offered £2500 for a re selection, went into a store to order my new one. And was told it’s not for £2500 it’s for £2376. Awaiting phone conversations by letter to prove I was told £2500. Lots more to the story which involves there repairs contracter SERVICO. It’s been a nightmare. "

"Still waiting for my sofas after finding the first lot damaged and scuffed on the back of the delivery van. I have been lied to and promised time scales for the new sofas which haven't been met and have felt there is no one high up he chain to talk to that will give me answers or reassurance."
Jacko4832 (05 Oct 2017)
"To everyone who is posting these comments, I am a Harvey’s customer, but I am not here in a negative capacity, just to clear a few things up. Firstly, when purchasing a soft filled fabric sofa, you have to take into account that the filling inside your seat cushions are a hollow blown fibre, which is the same stuff you find inside your average pillow. These MUST be plumped as directed twice daily otherwise they WILL go flat. When you purchase the sofa the salesman will offer you an alternative of a foam and fibre mix if the prospect of plumping twice a day doesn’t appeal to you, however, this option costs a little more, however, your cushions WILL NOT GO FLAT! Now I refuse to believe for one second that this option was not offered to you as the salesman’s commission is increased if you buy this option, more likely the fact that you thought it was more money and you didn’t want to ‘pony up the dough’. Secondly, how does a 7 tonne lorry ‘speed off’ in a 30 mph zone? Was it supercharged? Or are you just talking garbage to try and worsen the sound of ‘your account’ of this fairy tale?. AND what about those delivery guys eh? Not taking off their boots to delivery your heavy sofa? Honestly if you believe that these guys are going to remove their footwear as and when they are entering your property then your mistaken, these guys are strictly governed by tight driving hours and they only have so much time per delivery drop, they do have other people waiting for sofas you know. It has to be said that YES, furniture stores like Harvey’s have their problems, but to start a campaign to ‘bring down the system’ is ridiculous. I understand you may feel aggrieved and I empathise with you, but you really haven’t. You probably won’t post this but at least you will have seen it."
Hayley80 (03 Oct 2017)
"Despite you proving that my sofa has no manufacturing fault, I feel bitterly disappointed that you still feel this is an acceptable condition for a 4 MONTH old Sofa. One of your furniture technicians agreed the cushions need more “filling” but because he didn’t log it as a fault you refuse to help. I have tirelessly followed all the care maintenance advice given to me and it’s been fruitless. 😔"

"I ordered a kitchen table and 6 chairs in Feb 2017. We had 4 normal wooden chairs with grey seat pads and 2 grey all linen chairs. We picked from a display in the shop. The table was delivered but so was 4 wrong coloured chairs. Beige seat pads not grey. I had to ring customer services to resolve this who directed me to the store who then directed me to contact customer services. After 8 phone calls and failed promises of calling me back the chairs were exchanged end of May. I was still waiting for the remaining 2 linen chairs . I had 2 failed deliveries , 1 when driver turned up to realise they hadn't been loaded and a 2nd delivery where the chairs were badly damaged. I had again to make numerous phone calls to customer services to get this resolved and new delivery dates . Then they delivered the wrong chairs in July. More phone calls . Told I would get £149 worth of Harvey's vouchers if I just kept what I had. I refused and cancelled the order and demanded they collected the whole lot. I have had 2 collection dates over the last 5 weeks where no one turned up!! I emailed complaints to Harvey's and no one responded . I put a complaint on the social media page on Facebook and got a call back promising to sort out collection and refund my deposit and first payment . Failed promises! Today was the 3rd collection date given and I was told it would definitely all be collected . They finales turned up at 1735 and took 2 chairs!!! Ridiculous! I now have no idea what is going on and am meant to be getting new kitchen delivered tomorrow but still have Harvey's table and chairs in the way. I have made 14 phone calls to Harvey's and received 6 . I have emailed 2 complaints and also had correspondence emails with the store I purchased it from. I have posted on the Facebook page 3 times. I have cancelled the direct debit so they can't take any more money. Harvey's customer service is shocking , they obviously don't communicate . It has been nothing but hassle and stress!! Something has to be done about Harvey's treatment of customers and all the incompetent mistakes they make. "

"Harveys are shocking. Bought a sofa, it arrived faulty. I agreed for a replacement. When replacement arrived that was worse than original. Had nothing but problems with them. No customer service at all. Will not buy from harveys again "

"We were moving into our new house on the 2nd of feb and ordered our sofa Jan and was supposed to be delivered in late feb early march... I was 30 weeks pregnant at the start of march and kept being told our sofa was either at the wrong warehouse or they actually had no clue! it took aboit 10 phonecalls and i loat my mind! i was sittinf on the floor or a wooden chair, at 30 weeks pregnant that was really uncomfortable! In the end i got my mother in law involved as i was getting to angry and upset. We eventually got sent a temp sofa until they found ours which in the end we kept as we were sick of waiting and there new delivery date for our sofa was the 23rd of april and my due date was the 29th so was far to close and we got told we would get charger for a missed delivery. We got £50 back as we kept the tenp sofa... £50 after alp the phonecalls and stress. Absolutly useless!!!! Never in my life would i use them again! Need to be shut down! disgraceful!"

"My partner bought a 3+3s suite from harvey's. For weeks they told us it was ready and when it came to delivery the driver said it wasnt on the van and it had been lost! The customer service team were not helpful at all and getting a small reduction on our finance was like getting blood from a stone. We asked for a loan couch and this took 2 weeks so in the mean time me, my partner an 2 year old daughter sat on the floor. We rang to check for an update and we were told they had forgot to re-order the couch only to then be told a week later it had been discontinued in the colour we wanted! This truly is the worst organisation I have ever had to deal with. It is appalling they are aloud to keep trading in this way. I am a customer experience manager so I know a little about what is and isnt good customer services. Harvey's arent even close!"

"Totally disgusted at the way I have been lied to and treated throughout this whole debacle. I ordered my suite (3 & 2 seater) mid May, Due delivery End of June. Given delivery date, held onto my old suite until delivery confirmed and let my old suite go on the morning as the new one came in the afternoon. Delivery guys came ( 1guy carrying it on his head) asks me to sign when I asked him where the other one was? What other one, you've only got a 2 seater! Needless to say I phoned up straight away. I was passed on to the customer service team and told they need up to 48 hours to look into it. They came back and said even though they could see the order for the 3 & 2 seater for some reason the 3 was not ordered!!!! Don't ask me how, because they never gave explanation. They said they would speed up a replacement which would be here within 2 to 4 weeks. I gave them till the end of June then I had to contact THEM AGAIN. I was then told it was actually on track for 17th August (6 week lead date) as it had to be ordered again from scratch. I wasn't happy but it was only a couple of more weeks (I'd already waited 10) and they dangled a carrot of the grand total £47 in addition to the previous £60 something already offered for the previous mistake. Unhappy at this I reluctantly agree as I just need the sofa and will just have to accept it will only be a couple more weeks. Now this is the entire summer holidays with a house full of kids. I've put off visiting family until the suite arrives and they are visiting now on the strength of this arriving. So I phone up the week before to check, told still showing 17th Aug, but phone back on the week to check. Phone up on the Monday of the week it's due and what I found out sickened me to the core. The chap on the phone un wittingly was the first one to accidentally tell me the truth!!! He said you order isn't due until mid September as the order wasn't placed until the 3rd August!!!!! Now, bare in mind I was told on told at the end of June I would have it by the end of July, AND told at the end of July it was coming by the 17th August. Both of these were lies as the order hadn't even been placed by these dates?????? Now I can't say if someone "deliberately lied" or told "little white lies" or were told to appease me or if their systems and/or staff are simply too shocking to see it wasn't ordered? I will never know as they have only tried to cover it up with excuses and never been honest. I cannot accuse any one person of anything. But I can say out right that i was told many untruths by more than one person. I told them that this was beyond satisfactory and asked to speak to a manager after being told that all they could do was offer me a measly £80 and offer no sincere investigation or heart felt apology. Never mind a serious compensation offer that reflected the stress, strain and hurt that had been placed on us. I complained to their head office via an email to head office (of which I never heard back) and also to their social media via Twitter, from which I did hear. They said they would look into it. I demanded they carry out a full investigation by someone high up. After assuring me they would, they obviously went through the same pathetic process with the same departments and people and said there was nothing further to answer to nor could they offer any other kind of reasonable solution so the same stood. Take yer 80 quid and wait another 4 weeks. Again, no real explanation of their "investigation" and totally not willing to move from their position. Needless to say, I told them to come and collect their stuff and that I would be spreading this as far and wide as possible on social media, media outlets and watchdog. I reiterated that I was a not cancelling my order, but returning their stuff after they had broken 1 written and 2 verbal contracts. They didn't even seem to care that I was returning it or even care that I would have to wait another 6 weeks with nothing whilst i re ordered a suite from a reputable company, never mind the fact that it will most probably be over a week before they collect it and then up to two further weeks before I get MY money back from them. Oh, and the two previously agreed compensation sums (£67 & 40 something) they are not honouring this now the suite is cancelled. Even though this was for previous delays and nothing to do with the final insult for which I refused their further measly compensation offer. Totally hurt, discusted and shocked that they can treat people in this manner and have such a negative impact on peoples lives. They can not continue to get away with this. "

"Ordered a Dining Table in January and was supposed to be delivered in May few days before delivery get a call from Harvey's saying due to manufacture issues delivery won't happen. After thinking a lot We said we don't mind we can wait for a few months as we really liked the dining set. Few weeks back got a call that delivery of the dining table and chairs will be soon however coffee table and lamp table will be delivered in September we didn't have a choice so we said ok, the person on the phone said they would call in a couple of days to arrange a delivery date. No one called so I messaged on twitter and a guy called James rang and said he would sort it out and call on Friday but he didn't. They took the money but don't want to give my goods. "

"Dining room table exploded in the middle of the night, Harvey's customer services stated that glass does just smash sometimes 'Google it' and that they aren't liable and blamed us for having heavy object on the table. On twitter they appear to show concern but on DM they state exactly the same when they get someone to call us. "

"My suite was delivered the end of April last year for my newly built extension (second living/dining area) four months into having it I noticed one of the cushions where the piping meets material was gaping showing base cushion i called Harvey's they sent out an an upholstery I allowed this to be repaired in good faith. Ten months later I noticed three frayed areas at the piping front of the suite and two inside facing the right arm of the chair. I called them and was told I have to get an Independent Report Report done for them to even consider doing anything about it. I haven't even finished paying for it to quote Harvey's "Handcrafted Exclusive Design sofas that are built to last " complete joke! I think it's appalling customers have to fork out for an Independent Report take the time out of their lives to arrange it my mum is living with me as she has cancer and is terminally ill this is an awful time for my whole family she has 6/12 months left of her life and I am spending it sorting out this mess a suite that is not fit for purpose. Utterly disappointed and will never buy another thing from them again ."

"We purchased a dining table, 4 dining chairs, sideboard, lamp table and coffee table from Harvey's in March for not far short of £2000. We asked to have all the items delivered together as we were moving into our home the week commencing 10th April and didn't have any furniture, unfortunately this couldn't be done so they split into two separate deliveries, a bit of a nuisance as my partner had to take another day off work to accommodate this but all being well this would have been fine The first order of the sideboard, lamp table and coffee table arrived around 10 April. We asked the delivery drivers to bring the furniture through the back garden as there is more room to manoeuvre without damaging the walls, however they were adamant it would be fine to bring through the front door. After assembling the coffee table and lamp table we noticed a few scratches, etc, and when bringing in the pre-built sideboard they knocked it off our newly painted hallway wall and damaged the wall and door, also damaging the sideboard. We noted this on the paperwork before the delivery men left and we were only asked to sign actual papers and not a palmtop, we later found out that there was a signature that had been signed on a palmtop fraudulently on our behalf which confirmed that we were happy that everything was perfect with the delivery, obviously this was not the case. After they left we contacted Harvey's about the damage they told us to email two different departments - one for the furniture damage and one for the property damage. We received the second delivery a few weeks later but we asked the delivery drivers not to build the dining table but to leave the boxes unopened and we would put together ourselves as we didn't want any further damage to our property or furniture after the last disaster is delivery. On opening the first box of two chairs we noticed they were very well packaged although one of the chairs had a small defect. On opening the second box the packaging was all over the place and the wood they'd used to keep the box sturdy had fallen down and scuffed the chairs in numerous places. Finally we opened the boxes for the dining table - there were a couple of scratches but nothing major. However on trying to attach the legs to the table top we noticed the holes didn't line up and we'd been given the wrong legs for the table. We have received compensation for the damage to the property after allot of chasing, however they would not provide us with the proof of signatures that they claimed was signed on the palmtop or the paperwork for the first delivery. I was keen to get my hands on this as I have no doubt that they have fraudulently signed. For at least two months we have been speaking to Harvey's to try to get a technician out to fix the dining table and other damaged furniture. My boyfriend has had to take two days off work unpaid and both times the appointments have been cancelled last minute and because he works away from home he can't just pop into work after the inconvenience. Eventually we had a technician booked to come out on Saturday 22nd July and Harvey's promised us that it wouldn't be for a report it would be for a repair however when the technician came out he told us he'd been allocated 30 minutes to write a report and physically was unable to repair the furniture that day. They really have no interest in resolving the issue and continue to make false promises, lie and deceive us. It's become beyond stressful and very upsetting as all we want is the furniture that we have paid for so our first home can be complete. Our dining table has been sitting on our kitchen floor for months and we've had to eat our meals off our laps, which is horrific after paying so much money for the unusable furniture. Harvey's don't seem to care that we have no usable dining table and damaged furniture and keep lying to us every time we speak to them. We just want this resolved so we can enjoy our furniture in our new home."

"I am one step away from taking Harvey's to court. I purchased a sofa 14th April 2017, the sales rep asked about the restrictions in my home to which I explained that the hallway was doorwidth wide and there was no give in turning into the living room, the sales rep told me this would be fine, sofas break down into barely nothing. He then said there were 3 sofas in stock and to pay a deposit to have it delivered within the next 2 weeks. A couple days later I got a phone call to confirm delivery date and took the remaining balance (1043 in total!) The day before the sofa was due to be delivered I received a voicemail saying that the sofa could not be located and the delivery wouldn't be the following day. A couple days late I got a phone call saying that the sofa couldn't be found and I had to reorder. I got a text a couple days later telling me my sofa was ready for delivery. Delivery attempt 1: it wouldn't fit through the living room door, was advised to have the window removed and told the store would be in touch. They didnt contact me at all, I arranged for window removal and called to coincide this with the delivery. Delivery attempt 2: the sofa didnt fit through the window. I emailed to cancel the order and it took a while for someone to come back to me and they want to take 20% off the total for a refund. I was not happy with this, I've had lengthy email discussions with this absolute diabolical company. I spoke to Citizens advice, who advised me of my rights and was told that because I made them aware before by the sofa of my issues in regards to the size of the property I was covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and entitled to a full refund or replacement, I emailed them this news to be told that they decline my request for replacement and full refund and that the 20% off the total was their final decision as per Harvey's t&cs. I forgot that I paid for Which? Legal advice so spoke to one of their solicitors who gave me excellent advice, and told me that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 takes precedence over Harvey's t&cs. I got in touch with the Furniture Ombusdman who couldnt help me as they cannot take action against conversations held in store (I have an email from Harvey's customer service stating I shouldn't of been told what I was told, but under the Consumer Rights act me telling them about my restrictions, him telling me it will be ok is a form of contract - with it not being ok means the sofa is not fit for purpose) At this moment, I am awaiting response from my bank under the Visa Chargeback scheme, I sent them the emails back and forth and the advice from the solicitor to see if they can reverse the transaction, if not I have a letter of action ready to send to Harvey's as one last chance before court. I am now also arranging a solicitor in case I do end up taking this to court. I am also going to seek compensation from this company for everything they have put me through. I really hope something happens to this company as they are an absolute disgrace and I will do all I can to have it made public NOT to shop there!!"

"I ordered a 3 seater soda & chair in March. In brown & both recliners. Had to wait 16 weeks or delivery. When it was delivered (having had 2 take unpaid leave because they can't give u a time & don't deliver at weekends !!!). The chair was fine brown electric recliner but the sofa was BLUE ???? I rang customer services immediately who apologised and asked me 2 send photos. I explained I couldn't as camera on phone not working & they said they must have photos. I told them I couldn't & why should I as it was there mistake & the delivery men had taken note of it. They said they would investigate & get back to me in 48 hrs. They didn't. I got an email to say they couldn't deal with my query as I had 'refused to send photos'. I then went to the store I had bought it from & got a lot more help from the salesman I had bought it from. He called me back in 24hrs & explained they had made the wrong sofa & a new one would need to be made & I would have 2 wait another 2 weeks for it. Disgusting !!! "

"I bought 2 sofas from Harveys. Within 6 months the arm on one sofa had fallen in. The repair man showed me that the arm rest had been constructed from cardboard. He repaired the one arm. A few months later the arm in the other sofa also collapsed however as a year had passed since delivery Harveys refused to fix it. However if i pay for an independent report to be done and a manufacturing fault found it would be covered by the 6 year manufacturers guarantee. "

"Harvey's were due to deliver our corner sofa and chair on Monday 5th June. We waited the 7 hour slot after taking the day off work. I called twice to check on the status of our delivery. Once at 18.15 then at 19.35. Both times I was told they cannot contact the driver bit our sofa was still showing as out for delivery. Needless to say it didn't turn up. No phone call. Nothing. 8 am on the 6th i called to tell them it didn't come. No apology, just said I had to wait 48 hours for someone to call me. I later found out this call wasn't even logged! 2pm the same day I called again for answers. That's when they logged my missing sofa! 4.30pm on the 7th I called again. The girl actually called the warehouse and found out my sofa was my even put on the van on the 5th! She rebooted my delivery for the 16th. Yet another day off work and I had to get another sofa to sit on in the meantime. More cost to me. She offered me 2 days pay at £50. (Doesn't cover my wages or my sofa I had to buy) We will see what happens Thursday!! "

"me and my partner bought a dining table and chairs from Harvey's (Cardiff store) back last year in May, the metal on the bottom of the chairs starting rusting and peeling off, we had no idea the chairs were sprayed to give the chrome effect, we had a second pair of chairs re-ordered and delivered to us 3 months after buying them and they are also doing exactly the same thing. We have emailed Harvey's numerous times, a lovely man from the service repairs team has now been out to us twice and he cannot believe that they still haven't offered us new chairs, Harvey's keep telling us they need to be repaired but yet the repairs man is saying there is no way of repairing them! It seems they do not communicate very well and We are continually going around in circles and getting nowhere, the customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Today my partner had a phone call from a man in customer services and was told that they only thing they could offer were new bases for the chairs, I then took over the phone call and told him that this was not the customer service we expected, I do not want another pair of chairs exactly the same which are also going to do the same thing in another 3 months time. we are now worried that by the time the 12 month warranty is up they will turn around to us and say that it is no longer their issue and are unable to give us any sort of refund, I would be happy with a different table and chairs but they will not even offer that, they see you coming with your money and once they have it they do not seem to care. Don't ever order from Harvey's. "

Unfortunately the table got delivered last Friday and was damaged again since then I have been on the phone to the store and Hillington with a lady called Anne she seems to think the whole thing is hilarious and was laughing at the other end of the phone I suffer anxiety and I do not think my mental state is funny as Harveys has caused me to get anxious of the situation as I paid £561 that they are now telling me I do not get back. I really don't understand any of this and I am banging my head off a brick wall if I took insurance for accidental damage and item cannot be replaced am I not entitled to a refund can't get my head around this I need help I am going to seek further advice from citizens Advice"

"We were absolutely Disgusted with the customer service we were given today after through my own investigation were told our sofas were not coming today and we should have been informed by telephone yesterday as our sofas have been lost. So here we are sat on our lounge floor with quilts waiting to see if our items will be delivered again next Friday with no encouragement or gaurentee given. This should not be allowed to happen!!"

"After a catalogue of failings by Harvey's, to deliver my dining suite, they finally deliver it this morning, only to find the table is damaged! I've taken a day and half in annual leave from work to accommodate their absurd delivery times and now this! Their response: we will only offer you compensation if you go ahead and have the suite, if you have a full refund, we won't pay you any compensation.....smacks of blackmail doesn't it! Compensation for all the inconvenience offered if you go ahead? £50.00!! Needless to say I told them to shove it! So if anyone out there is considering purchasing some new furniture, I strongly suggest that you DONT go to HARVEYS!! I have never dealt with a company that values my custom with such disregard! Never ever again."

"Will never buy anything from Harvey's ever again!!!! Quick enough to take your money but won't fix problems through the insurance taken out. Spent 4K on a sofa and dining table, we were told at the point of sale "anything is covered on the insurance, just call us and we will sort it out" Had a spillage on the dining table which has damaged it but were told "sorry that's not covered" the sofa has a few problems so out came the insurance rep to take a look, and surprise surprise we are not insured as we have "not been sitting on it properly" !!!!!!! Didn't realise we had to sit on it in a specific way??? Shocking aftercare service, absolute joke and will be contacting trading standards"

"Received my order from Harvey's on time but the order came in with the foostool that i originally cancelled. As told by the staff in Harvey's Macclesfield branch, just decline the delivery of the item and a refund will be given when they received the delivery copy. Upon receipt of the bill, i was charged for the item I cancelled and did not receive. After filing a complaint Harvey's is telling me that i need to pay now an admin fee of 20% of the cancelled footstool and that i should go back to the store to pay the admin fee. GRRRRRRR! Too much hassle to do, i just want to give up! Their social media team are thete as decorations, they will call you but will not help redolve it. They will investigate but they will still give you the same verdict. Sometimes i am thinking if its worth it? A lot of families are dying because of lack of food, i could have donated the £280 to charity. Its a hard-earned money that me and my husband worked for to buy the furnitures that we want and then thete is Harvey's thats making it as their way of living, making your customer priviledge a nightmare."

"Harveys say I need to have the sofas assessed at my own cost and if I get it done independent of them, they will come and check that the assessment is correct, so why can't they assess it in the first place. The colour has worn off in places and a small chunck of plastic has come off in a very noticeable area. Only had the sofas since 2013"
Mrs-starmer (08 Dec 2016)
"We ordered our on the 3rd September 2016 our second delivery was today and it's not coming. They sent us a loan sofa we have had it a week. Contacted Harvey's showroom today we either have to order again or take our money back. But they will not give back our money until the loan sofa has be picked up. I'm very upset as I have recently come out of hospital after having a partial knee replacement and will now be left with no furniture. I asked if we could have a sofa out of their showroom for a reduced price, but was told the only things available would be mismatched. We ordered a recliner because of the comfort as I have osteoarthritis in my knees and hands. My husband is going into the store later on his way home from work. So it's like being black mailed you can use the loan sofa if you order again and if you don't the loan sofa goes back and you sit in the floor. "

"Well I was told on Friday that I would get a call to tell me when Harvey's would collect the chair and sofa I was returning as I had problems with my order to the extent that I have had to use money for Christmas to buy a replacement and rely on my refund which I was assured should all be sorted by the end of this week . So waited for the call and in the end had to call Harvey's again ! To be told that the sofa in the warehouse still hasn't been updated to not required ! Considering I was told a week ago this would be done and a collection date would be sorted today and that I will receive a call on Wed . . Mmm ok . . I asked how long are we looking at for a refund ' can take upto 3 weeks but will see what we can do ' I am absolutely fed up and worried how can a big company treat people the way they do ! All I want is for the sofa and chair to be returned and my refund so that me and my family can enjoy Christmas"

" I ordered a 3 and 2 seater sofa via Harvey Hillington Glasgow store approximately two months ago. I was advised that delivery would be a matter of weeks. There was some issues in the delivery of the sofa from England to the Ayr depot in that the order was sent in two separate trunking deliveries. Eventually I received a message from the company advising that delivery would be on the 5th December. Today (5th December) I got another message advising delivery would now be on 10th December. I called Hillington Glasgow store who have now said that despite taking my money and advising me of two delivery dates that they do not think that my 3 seater sofa exists as no one can find it in the Ayr warehouse. As I removed my old sofa from my house yesterday under the impressions that I would have my new sofa today I am in a position that I have a father with stage four lung cancer and a five year old without a seat in my house to sit on. I have asked for staff to look for the sofas whereabouts however they are not able to say if they can find it. I have been lied to by staff who advised that they could not call Lutterworth to see if they ever sent the sofa from there and a member of staff has more or less admitted to me that they think someone in the company has stolen my sofa. I had asked for the contact details of the area manager which I was advised that this was not for the public to know. I asked where the area manager would be tomorrow so I could speak with them And I was also told that this was not information I could have. I am now having to call all over the country myself tomorrow to.see if the sofa that Harvey's have taken over £1300 from me in cash even exists. "

"This company needs to be closed down. They are beyond belief. Tell you so many lies. Ignore you. Don't respond to follow up. I've no sofa until march 2017. Apparently lost mine. Has it even been ordered. Was told by staff it's been misplaced in warehouse then told warehouse been closed for three days for stock take. Then told staff are pinching sofas. Then ignored. Today no delivery no sofa no call. Disgusting. Been offered 180 compensation. Yet my sofa 200 cheaper with Black Friday sale. Staff patronising and need customer service training. "

"So disapointed in Harveys Bridge of Don Aberdeen branch. First off, we only placed the order as we were promised dining table and chairs will be 5 weeks delivery date. Then, upon paying, the computer showed unable to deliver in 5 weeks. The person who assisted us said there was a problem with the computer system and that he will sort it out and will give us a call the following Monday. We paid with our card and trusted we will get a phone call. Came Monday, no phone calls. Then a few days later, after we filed a complaint, there was a call. The delivery will be 12 weeks! 12 weeks came, we were given a date and that on delivery day, there will be 6 hour window. Delivery day came and was told the table will be delivered, but no chairs. When will they be available, answer was "I don't know". So we said no as we did not want to take 2 days off from work to receive the furniture. I then contacted store branch again to find out when would they be available. Answer was "I don't know what happened, but I will get back to you tomorrow". Tomorrow came, no calls. Then the next day, no call. We have been trying to call Aberdeen branch at different times of day but no answer. Very poor customer service :( Another date given finally and was only given less than an hour window. We called to cancel and asked to redeliver, was told it will take up to 48 hours, it has been 5 days now and still nothing. Called them and was advised, "we will call you tomorrow to give you update". Tomorrow came, no update. We called again, was told we will be contacted as soon as they hear from their warehouse. I mean REALLY!!! In this day and age, how many days do you need to contact your warehouse?? This impulse buying of furniture only occurred as was promised 5 weeks delivery, 4 months later, still nothing. Harveys, you should be embarrassed of your customer service."

"Non existent customer service, once they have your money they couldn't give a t*!s. Added insurance to my order despite me refusing at least three times, telling them I had two cats and a dog so no use to me. Refused to remove it and refund me despite calling emailing and writing to the local store and head office. Within a year ia had no ,eat her in the seat of the chair and no padding in the arms. They sent an independent expert who agreed there was a problem. Harvey sent a letter saying it was normal wear and tear and our fault for not plumping up the arms every day! Here is the supposed 'leather'seat of a chair."

"Order a corner suite and a recliner chair in June. Received both in September but chair arrived damaged and within a day or two found that the corner suite was staining our clothes. Harveys advised a replacement chair would be 8 weeks but did not arrive and is looking like a 13 week wait. We have never been given any update on the sofa and been told that they can only consider replacement one we have received the chair. We have been left with unusable furniture and it looks like it will be next year before we see if we can get furniture which is of acceptable quality. The customer service throughout has been atrocious. They rely on giving you the runaround and blaming their 'system'."

"Excited!! Ordered my first ever sofa to specification in August after many colour swatches and deco matching, paid a deposit £160, was told it would be handmade and delivered within 8 weeks.charged a ridiculous £59 delivery fee however I wasn't told they only deliver mon-fri....had to book an unpaid day off to accept delivery on 24th October received a phone call at 8am to say my sofa would be delivered within 30 minutes!! What a disaster the delivery men were clueless, the incorrect sofa stuck in my front door at first, tried to refuse delivery as I knew it was wrong colour and pattern. Was told I had to ring customer services at 9am to complain. No managers ever ring you back as requested. Say they are sending a sofa technician as there is a colour dispute, then decide they are not. Just wanted to swap the cushions at first. How is this acceptable?? Still currently have the wrong sofa and another is re ordered but having to wait another 8 weeks! Customer services only reply with sorry emails no updates. I will now have to take another unpaid day off when my actual sofa is ready. Absolutely disgusted in this company's behaviour, will never buy from or recommend them again "

"On one hand I'm glad I'm not alone! On the other I'm totally disgusted that this is so bad! Ordered sofa in August! First delivery date 30th sept didn't happen and is not showing on my Harveys notes! 2nd date 17th oct !2 days before got a call to say it wasn't coming! Returned call to ask why and was told no it is coming! Rang warehouse in NI and man confirmed he could see my sofa on his list for delivery! Waited all day to get a call to say no sofa it's still in England! Of course I loose the plot with them but they don't care! Next date 10th Nov! Call on 8th from the warehouse in Ayr to say sofa not coming in fact they have NO CLUE where it is! However told previous Friday that my sofa was confirmed to be in Ayr!!!! Went to store yesterday and manager printed out my notes from customer services! Told I would get compensation for booking 3 days off work for my delivery dates but only 2 recorded !!!!! Now waiting further 2 weeks as I was going to get a refund which would take 2 weeks I'm told so can't afford to go get a diff sofa now and it wouldn't be here until after Christmas, so they have me trapped! They do not care! Staff hanging up and now find I've been lied to the whole time!"

"My sofas were delivered with tears to all three items. As I unpacked the packaging myself, Harvey's are not admitting liability. I took out sofa protection so had I been responsible for the damage I would have happily made a claim using that insurance to repair the sofas, however, I paid for new sofas and was delivered damaged ones...at the moment I am being made to feel like a liar and have now had these damaged sofas for 4 months with no empathy from Harvey's or the ombudsman"
-Chris (07 Nov 2016)
"My sofa also failed to be delivered on the day arranged. When I contacted Harvey's I was told that it was in storage and they couldn't find the sofa. After I was then told a revised date which also came I was told my sofa hadn't even been ordered, which resulted in another 12 wait. During this time I was 'loaned' a 2 seater sofa to accommodate 4 people which when delivered had 2 missing castors underneath which when slid into position scratched my solid wood floor! Footstool arrived but was given the wrong one. Delivery men then brought the correct one shortly after which had broken feet so had to wait another 12 weeks to be made and delivered. Bearing in mind I ordered my sofa on New Year's Eve, I was finally in possession of the full product I ordered a full 8 months after I placed the order. Fast forward just over a year later, one of the recliners constantly fails, had a guardsman rep out to fix but failed again shortly after. On one part of the sofa, a spring has snapped on one part of the sofa rarely sat on. Had an impartial, independent investigative report which I paid for to determine that it was a result of poorly manufactured materials. This was done as advised by the person I spoke to from Harvey's and if successful they would reimburse and pay to have the couch repaired. Now Harvey's have claimed that as the company that carried out the repair are 'NOT VAT' registered they will not accept said report! Funny how the company in question in the past carried out the same Harvey's repairs without needing to be VAT registered! What difference does this make to whether someone is competent at their proffession? Also to further to add more insult to what they stated, the company that carries out repairs on my sofa on behalf of guardsman are NOT VAT registered."

"I am lost for words, at the end of my tether, I have been consistently lied to! We ordered a full 3 piece suite over £3000. Paid a £300+ deposit. Original delivery date 18.10.16. Delivery van arrived. Drivers couldn't find the sofas. I mean for gods sake, they're massive. It easy to miss! But not on the lorry. 1st day off work. So I ring cust services. They don't know where sofas are. The system shows they're in the warehouse, but a new computer systems has messed up locations. So I wait patiently for 2 days, Nothing! I call again. Still lost. 2 more days. Husband goes into store. Many apologies. So new delivery date of Friday 28. Not on lorry. Then told they've found the 2 and 3 seater but not the armchair. New delivery date of today 4th Nov. Not on the lorry. Now told it's still all lost. Tweeted and FB and heard nothing. Want to cancel order, buy store manager begs us to give him a chance. He admits Harvey's will lose money so pleads with me not to cancel. I've given him one week to send me photographic evidence of the sofas, or I'll cancel. Disgusted and lied to over and over again. They are breaching the contract, so they're never going to win if this goes to court. I will get my money back. Not been offered any compensation, and were sitting on the floor. Family coming for Xmas and we have no chairs. I'm exhausted with all of this. "

"Ordered from Cannock orbital store, everything was fine. Until daily phone calls from the warehouse asking about delivery even though we told them the house was delayed. Now we've got the house we organised a delivery for Friday 28th oct. Waited till 7.30pm at night. Nothing. No phone. Reorganised the day after for the FOLLOWING THURSDAY and we were told "they didn't have time to deliver it." I'm now currently standing in my front room on said Thursday at 4.20pm waiting for a morning delivery. How hard is it to put a sofa on a van and drive to a house?! Awful company. "

"We ordered our sofa 13th July, expecting a 12-13 week delivery time. We got a call beginning of October (can't remember which date as rang them countless times). The date came and the time stated between 7am and 1pm, my in-laws took time off work to sit in and wait for a sofa that didn't arrive! After numerous calls (me and my partner chasing the situation and being promised calls back which never happened), they informed us they couldn't locate the huge corner sofa we had ordered and offered us an offensive compensation of £50, this soon escalated to £80. 2nd delivery date came and went, again unable to locate the item and blaming it on 'a new system'. We finally arranged it to be local couriered to us at a time of our convenience (as no one could get time off work). Yet another phone call received to say they couldn't locate the item to send it to a store for them to courier it to us! (Unbeknown to us that they would be using a store as a middle man). At this point and god knows how many calls later we were up to £130 compensation (on a £1500 sofa!). Finally after speaking to probably the whole so called customer service team and nearly 18 weeks since we ordered it, they marked our sofa as lost and we had to re order it. Yes...another 12 weeks to wait (looking like January 2017... I won't hold my breath) and the best thing they could do was loan us two 2 seaters and a chair (nothing like what we ordered) as we got rid of our furniture ready for delivery...These should be coming Tuesday 1st November hopefully. So to sum it up when we receive our sofa...it will be 7 months from original order date, a sofa loaned to us until we receive ours, a total of £280 off our £1500 sofa (as they covered the £100 difference as the sofa price has increased since we ordered), numerous phone calls and loss of earnings from time taken off of work let alone all the stress. To say it was meant to be a pleasant time for me and my partner moving in together this has definitely been exhausting. "

" Dear Harveys, I entered into an agreement with your company on 10th July 2016. At the time of purchase I was advised by your representative that my sofa would arrive within 12-13 weeks. We have now waited 15 weeks, and had two failed delivery dates (Monday 17th October and Thursday 20th October). Our latest delivery date (Thursday 20th October) was confirmed 48 hours prior to delivery to arrive between 7am-1pm. On the day of the ‘expected delivery’ I received a phone call at 8.50am stating that my sofa was not going to be delivered due to ‘misplacing some items.’ This was extremely disappointing. After having taken two days off work (unpaid!) for the expected delivery of our sofa, I am now out of pocket with loss of earnings and we now have no sofa and are currently sitting on the floor! After being told we would receive a telephone call within 48 hours (on the Thursday), surprise surprise I never heard anything so I called your customer service team in the afternoon of Saturday 22nd October. I was then told the goods which have been ‘misplaced’ need to be reordered and would take a further TWELVE weeks to arrive! This is totally unacceptable behavior and we are extremely disappointed with the service and how Harveys have dealt with the matter. No offer of compensation and no offer of a temporary sofa whilst we awaited our order! The above terms constitute an essential part of the contract and to date this has not been fulfilled. We therefore had to cancel our order in store yesterday. Again, no offer of trying to keep our custom by the offering of a temporary sofa and certainly no offer of any compensation for the inconvenience caused and for my loss of earnings!"

"Disgrace, diabolical service and failed promises. 20/10/2016 - First delivery date: The delivery men turned up with only a corner unit. We asked where was the sofa and nest of tables and they said they did not know and to call customer service, which I proceeded to do. Spoke with Customer Service and questioned why we had not had delivery of the sofa and nest of tables. Was advised that the system showed the items had been dispatched, but I reiterated they hadn’t. He then proceeded to advise that the system would have to refresh and this would take 24 hours in order that a new delivery could be provided and that I should call back on Friday......unacceptable. Local store called and said they had not put the item on the van…….apologised and advised the rescheduled delivery date had been organised for the 25/10 and also that the nest of tables we ordered were now not in stock and the item had been discontinued, but he had one display nest of tables left and he would offer some money off if we were to take it, so could I come into the store to take a look. 24/10/2016 I went to the local store to check the display nest of tables. It had scratches. I rejected the item and said I wanted our money back. I was advised that he would need to get clearance from Regional Manager (or someone higher than him, I can’t remember exactly), to refund the money. He said he would gain this and action the refund. 25/10/2016 - Rescheduled delivery date due issues on 20/10. I called the branch to check when the delivery was coming that day. Advised that they had an email saying that it would be delivered between 12-7pm on the 25/10. Next I received a call from the central delivery team who advised the sofa would not be delivered today as they could not find the item in stock/the warehouse. You can understand my surprise at this news, especially with the conflicting information provided by the local store. I was not able to speak to a Manager as I was informed that they were dealing with other escalations (not very assuring) and I would basically have to wait my turn. I was advised a call back/contact from a Manager within Customer Services would not be for at least 48-72 hours……... I called the local branch further to the call central delivery team, who advised again, that they had an email saying the sofa was out for delivery, but they would double check and call back. Call back from local store now advised that the item was still in the warehouse in Latterwood. Store could not advise why it could not be delivered. 26/10/2016 Local store called. He advised that there was an issue with the warehouse and the system was defaulting the sofa to “in”. I was then advised that the system says a new delivery date had been specified for the 31/10/2016. I outlined this was the last chance for Harvey's to get it right. 27/10/2016 Local branch called to provide an update. Stated they had an email from the warehouse to confirm the item was in situ. I requested to be provided a copy of this. I was informed that they were unable to send the email to me, as system blocks them from sending emails out……..I find this unbelievable. I reiterated again, one more chance to deliver the sofa on the 31/10, otherwise we would cancel the order. So, to summarise: They have failed on so many customer service levels including the contract in my opinion, as they have specified and confirmed delivery dates i.e. 20/10, 25/10 and the pending 31/10). Failure to deliver within a reasonable time and outside of the agreed deadline which technically was the 20/10, is a breach of contract (in my opinion). I consider I have been told untruths about what really is the issue. Oh, they are also not refunding me the money I have paid for the nest of tables and instead refunding this against the finance? They currently hold circa £300.00 of my money for goods I have not received......consider they are in breach of Consumer Rights Act 2015. People should avoid this company at all cost. "

"I would never use Harveys again they are a utter disgrace i orderd and payed for table few days before delivery date they rang to say that they did not have the table we orderd and would we choose another so we choose another one few days before delivery date they rang to say that the table was damaged so we could not have so i told them to cancel my order and to refund my money but on the monday after they deliverd the table now wait for it the table came without legs so after numerous phone calls we are waiting for them to pick up the table then we can have a refund 14 days after they have got the table ba k in their warehouse today we now have received one table leg without screws so what has happened to the other three legs and fittings "

"Worst company have dealt with, we ordered the sofa in April and fully paid, Got told 13 weeks, had past that and told us would be delivered 5th october, the delivery men turned up and no sofa on the van, phone them said it was not on for delivery even though the delivery truck turned up and we had a call 2 weeks prior confirming delivery date, then said it would be week after, that came no one turned up, phoned them again said it wasn't available for delivery as have lost part of the sofa, said it would be following week so we are now at 3rd time and guess what no sofa again, said they hadn't had it down for delivery even though they said week before they had it and would be delivered now at point where were thinking do they even have the sofa. Worst company have dealt with and not sure how there in business!"

"Awful awful awful way to treat people, lie after lie. Ordered furniture in May, half of order arrived few months later with a stanley knife tear, they sent a repair man but we were not happy so they ordered new leather that was fixed on site about Mid August. Within that time the rest of the order still didnt come. Every time we phoned we were told it will be another 8 weeks. Then told it has to be made to order and be ready 6th October. I phoned on the 9th to be told it will be another 8 weeks. So i contact via facebook and some social media team call me back apologise and advise only their team now looking after order. Said would call me back in 3days to give update...you guessed it no call and its now 22nd. Chatting to my cousin last week in his new house and he said new sofa coming from Harveys on Saturday..you guessed it again folks...it didnt come. Shameful treatment."

"I would never EVER recommend using Harvey's furniture... we went with them as the sales guy told us they were the only place who could guarantee delivery within 6 weeks... 6 weeks came and went with no sign of our sofa.. on 4 occasions we have chased this up and each time been told our sofa is not in the warehouse. When asked to speak to a manager, we are told it IS in fact in the warehouse but 'being processed'.. this has been happening on and off since 4th October and they don't seem to have a clue. Delivery was finally booked for Tuesday (2 weeks late) and then we get a call the day before to say they 'can't locate' our furniture as a wagon had gone missing! After kicking off royally, a manager somehow miraculously managed to find our corner sofa and get it onto the delivery van and so the delivery was going ahead... they then guaranteed the swivel chair would arrive by the weekend... specially delivered by a local firm for the 'inconvenience'. Tuesday came and went with no sign of delivery... we've called up and been told 'it was never put on the van' and we will be 'looking into it'.... from the SAME manager who told it was DEFINITELY on a van the day before.... we got a call later that day to say they had managed to book it for today instead. Made a big song and dance of how it had gone to senior manager and it would never happen again.... booked yet another day off work. The manager was supposed to call this morning with a smaller time slot as they were 'tracking' the delivery closely. No phone call so rang up at 10am and, surprise surprise.... it wasn't put on the van and nothing is on it's way today. Yet another shambles and waste of a day. Harvey's are incompetent and liars.. our furniture has been in and out of warehouses for the last 2 weeks, seemingly having a better social life than me! Complete joke and the poorest customer service I have ever experienced!"

"We ordered a left hand facing chaise sofa and waited about8 weeks for delivery. When the sofa arrived it was a) right hand facing and therefore didn't fit properly in the room and b) faulty (had no clips to attaché the chaise to the sofa so kept coming apart) Rang Harveys, got told as it was a web order they couldn't do anything for me and the web team were too busy to speak to me. I had to email the web team. I emailed the address they gave me and I got no response. Phoned again and got given a different email address. Emailed the second email address and got an auto response saying they would try and deal with my email within 30 days. Phoned again, VERY RUDE woman in customer services said she had spoken to the web team and they said I had ordered a right hand facing chaise so it was my fault and web team would call me to discuss (even though I had order confirmation email saying left hand facing) as I tried to explain to her she kept talking over me. When I said "please could you let me explain without interrupting" she hung up on me. Found a different phone number and managed to get through to the web team myself who said that the customer service team had just spoken to them about my order and had been rude to them too! She could see that it was their fault on the system and re-ordered my sofa - I've now got to wait another 6-8 weeks. They sent out someone to repair the wrong sofa that I have to keep til the right one comes because she said it's a health and safety issue and we shouldn't use it til it was fixed. (Obviously worried about getting sued) No one seems to know how to do their job properly. So frustrating and now might not have the proper sofa by December despite ordering in early September. "

"We ordered our sofa 18th July, we were told it was in their warehouse and that though we could get it anytime, we wud need to give them a delivery date, which we gave as 8th Oct. We phoned in august to say we were ready for the sofa and we were told their had been a glitch in their system and that they had to order us another one. 8th oct has been and gone. So They said it wud b with us for 14th oct... 14th oct has been and gone-NO SOFA...and we hv been told now 2nd November!!! I hv had to cancel people coming to our house as we have no seats...when phoning their customer service, we were told they cud compensate us £39!!! When i still wasnt happy (&no money wud hv made me happy except a full refund) they then offered £59...when i asked about cancelling they said we wud lose 20%...this is absolutely appalling. I am pregnant and i really dont need this extra stress. Anytime i need some comfort i have to take to bed rather than just sit on my sofa!!! I am so disappointed!!!"

"I ordered a particularly expensive sofa from Harvey's and was given a date of 10th October for delivery . This has now been changed 4 times . I am a student nurse currently on a clinical placement and this means I have had to change my shifts 4 times to accommodate different delivery dates . We also sold our old sofa which was collected on the 9th of October as per Harvey's advice , so me and my family have had to endure almost three weeks with no furniture at all. I have made numerous phone calls trying to clarify the situation and to express my disgust at the situation to be told the same "lines" over and over again . They have done absolulty nothing to rectify or compensate for not sticking to their end of the contract , yet have told me they will charge me 20% if I cancel my order which amounts to £400 !!! This has caused great amounts of stress and I have ended up in tears numerous times and their customer service team just done seem to care : My date for delivery now stands on the 25th October 5 days from now but I am not holding my breath . We has to assemble it ourselves"

"Wish I had read these posts before I ordered seems to be a recurring theme. Looks like Harveys will be the next company to go into administration, not one good review & I can add to the theme with another tale to tell... Harveys are an absolute joke, never have I had such bad customer service! I think ur company need to realise it is customers that keep you in business & when you treat everyone the way you do I hope your not in business much longer. I have recently moved house & was told my sofa would be delivered 26th September. Recieved a call to say a part was missing would have to rearrange. Sofa was then meant to be delivered on 30th, text was recieved to confirm this. Yet another day off work waiting from 7am only I phoned to check if they could give a time as no sign of it by the afternoon only to be told it had been taken off the delivery route for whatever reason they didnt even know as they had no record of booking! Third time lucky I thought & sofa was booked again to be delivered 14th oct so my partner has took the day off work this time only to recieve a phonecall this evening to surprise surprise it wont be delivered on friday! Well at least you let me know this time! Absolute joke, I would be quicker making it myself since it was ordered in June! Dont bother with someone will contact me, I am sick of speaking to people who dont even understand customer service. I will be seeking legal advice & will be going directly to your store so they can deal with so called customer service. Im sure potential customers would love to be advised on evidence of your customer service. Harveys should remember reputation means alot in business & it looks like they have quickly lost theirs!!"

"Waited over 6 weeks for the delivery of sofa, dinning table and chairs only to be told that unfortunately the dinning table would not be available for delivery on my chosen date (which I had to take a day off wrk for). The sofa arrive however part of it was missing! The delivery person could not tell me why it hadn't been placed in the van. Mistakes can happen so I was relatively considerate at this point. On closer inspection of the part of the sofa I did have, the legs were marke, chipped and dos not for properly. I had to phone customer services to ask about where/when the other part of the sofa would arrive. The response was that I would hear from someone in 48hrs- for me that just isn't good enough. Funny how I got a response immediately after posting a comment on Harveys Facebook page. Today (19th Oct) flour dinning table and chairs were to arrive- they didn't turn up. Again, no explanation as to where they were or when they would be able to be delivered. Yet another day wasted and another day taken off work. Apparently the warehouse is in Ayr - I could drive there myself in under an hour and pick up the stuff myself "

"I also am having a nightmare with Harvey's. They really do believe they are above the law. I'm still waiting for a refund with interest and compensation . I won the court case but now they are asking for judgement to be set aside. I hope the judgement dies their homework on this company. They have all my savings. "

They should be banned from trading."

"My partner and I ordered a corner sofa and a dining table plus 6 chairs on 21st May 2016. We received a text on 4 the July advising our order was on time. We got the keys for our new house on 5th August, dining table and chairs were due 14th August and our sofa was due 20th. The 14th came and went, no table, no communication. I called the Ayr branch that we ordered this - they then advised our table was actually 5 weeks late (now due 11th sept) and asked if anyone had contacted, of course they hadn't. I also asked about our sofa - this wouldn't be in the warehouse until 25th August so wouldn't be out for delivery until 2 weeks later. This was also a pain - but at least this was out for delivery. We asked about cancelling this delivery and was laughed at and told no. And we were also told by a member of staff at the Ayr branch that "5 weeks late was not late" I then got a message advising the table and chairs would be out for delivery on 19th sept (a week later than previously advised) I received no text alert the day before my table was due as apparently this doesn't happen with dining furniture, but thankfully I received a call about 30 mins before they arrived. The delivery men then came in to build my dining table and chairs, only to tell me they were only delivering 4 chairs and they didn't know where the remaining 2 were. I called customer services who were absolutely shocking and could not actually tell me where my 2 remaining chairs were. I then went back down to the Ayr branch and David who sold us the furniture advised he would look into this. 3 days later we eventually found the chairs, no explaination of why there weren't delivered. But we set a date of 5th October (which I complained about as this was 2 weeks later than my original date and we are being put out due to another error from Harveys) we asked our neighbours to sit in our house and wait for the delivery - no such delivery appeared! What a waste of time for our neighbours also! I called the Ayr branch again and was told our chairs are actually missing, have gone from Mark Webster (supplier) to warehouse in England to Ayr warehouse but the Ayr warehouse don't actually know if they have been received. Tom from Ayr branch advised he had spoken to Agnes at the Ayr warehouse and asked her to physically check our chairs were there, she advised they were so arranged delivery for 14th October (when my partner was off work) I then got a call on 13th advising our chairs wouldn't be delivered as they were "missing" again and were no longer on the stock list for the Ayr Warehouse - leaving me to believe they have been sold to someone else. The guy Tom I am dealing with is on holiday until 17th October so I plan to call him to arrange a meeting and have written confirmation of compensation etc - let's see how that goes. I will never be back at Harveys and would tell everyone else not to go near. "

"Day 13 so have now taken delivery of my 3 seater recliner but unfortunately new two seater recliner insight and after calling customer services and had to wait for over 11 mins to chat with someone then to be told it's out of stock and they would let me know when it's in stock and then would have to wait for another delivery date! Harvey's your a complete joke so to help you improve on your Customer service and that celebrity to produce goods that your selling I've wrote to emails the first is to my solicitor because if you think your getting away with this without giving me some form of compensation then your seriously mistaken the Second email is to trading standards I'm pretty sure taking money for a service or item that's not given or provided is illegal. I will never be using Harvey's again and will be telling my friends to stay well clear of Harvey's !!!!!!!!! Chat conversation end "

"We ordered our new sofas August Bank holiday. Was told delivery 1st week October. Last Friday they contacted my partner saying your new sofas will be delivered Tuesday 4th between 7 am to 1pm. My partner works nights so took Monday off so he could be available Tuesday between those times. The time came & went then got told not arriving today will be Wednesday. So my partner said it has to be after 1pm as I work nights, we told them this from the beginning as well, Wednesday arrived deadline came & went then got told again no delivery. No reason as to why or what happened. Was then told will let us know in 48 hours what is happening. Each time we have had to contact Harveys. We have no seating apart from a garden chair & our dining chairs. I have a spine problem so find it uncomfortable to sit on these. Now we have to wait till Monday to find out what is going to happen with our delivery. Disgusted by whole thing. No regard for customers who paid for furniture & delivery. No attempt to contact or offer apology as to what happened or went wrong. Then have cheek to advertise good service & quick delivery on TV. Bunch of con artists in my eyes. If we get no phone call Monday will go to local store & demand money back, although been told by person on phone that could take up to 30 days "

"They delivered my replacement sofa on 04/10/16. Due to the first been delivered with a glue mark up the chaise and one of the recliners not working! The sofa turned up at 7pm, when I was advised it would be delivered between 7am and 1pm. I now have some new sofa and some old sofa, due to the recliner base been placed on back to front. So unable to sit on it!! I paid in full for this sofa in Feb, we are now in Oct and I still don't have a proper sofa in my house!!! Though I have to say the delivery guys have been fab both times x"

"So last October (2015) we ordered a three piece suite with promised Christmas delivery (this was crucial as we were moving into a new home before Christmas). A few weeks passed into late November and I still hadn't heard any updates on my order. I contacted Harvey's and asked to check if the suite would definitely be here in time for Christmas, the customer service adviser responded with "well I hope so".. I was further told that Infact there was absolutely no chance I would receive my furniture before Christmas as it was the busiest time of year (even though I was promised and guaranteed Christmas delivery). I told Harvey's I wanted to cancel my order and I was informed that I would need to send an email to a specific department and that no one over the phone could cancel my order for me. I did this that same evening and placed an order with DFS immediately, with it only being around 4 weeks until Christmas they were absolutely fantastic and sent all paperwork out marked as urgent and we received our sofas Dec 23rd. Fast forward to the following August (2016), I was bored of my sofas and decided to get a smaller corner suite. I took a chance on Harvey's again, because unfortunately they do have lovely furniture, well... on display atleast, that's if you ever receive anything. Ordered a corner sofa and a chair on Aug 10th. Estimated within 6 weeks delivery from date of order. So after 6 weeks , 6 days and 13 phone calls to Harvey's , we are still none the wiser of the whereabouts of our sofa suite ( they've lost it ). What's worse is we were told by 3 different members of customer service that the sofas would be delivered to their warehouse on the 21st of September, and not to worry as it was tracked as being on time for its arrival. 22nd of September , still not arrived and was told it would be there on the 23rd. 23rd of September we were told it had arrived at the warehouse and would take a few working days to pass through quality checks before I could book a delivery slot. Phoned twice today and was told it had not arrived on Friday ( the customer service assistant had in fact lied ) and that they had no idea where the sofas were. Now I have to wait a further 72 hours before another member of staff is supposed to contact me. Meanwhile through all this I have not received a SINGLE phone call from Harvey's , I have had to contact them myself and on several occasions they have hung up while I have been put on hold. We still have not had a delivery time, and could possibly be a few weeks wait before the next available slot. We also have no sofas to sit on in the meantime. Absolutely appalling customer service, I have asked for a supervisor or a manager several times and have been told repeatedly that they are "not available" or "have just left for the day" or that a complaint form needed to be sent to a specific department for them to contact me ( also did this and heard nothing back ). The best part is I ordered last year and experienced the same problem ( a non existent sofa ) which never turned up and I had to cancel. Took a chance again this year and was left with the same , if not worse customer service and again , no sofa. I then contacted head office who before I could even explain my name or problem she told me "sorry I can't help you , you need customer services and higher management", but you're head office?... Then I was eventually told that the sofa would not be delivered from the supplier until the 21st October and they would not compensate me for any false information or for sitting on the floor until then. Harvey's is a absolute scam. I have ordered twice and not revived any items let alone any customer service. "

"£1400 sofa purchased over 12 weeks ago. We were told no more than 12 weeks. Today is the delivery date. Nobody turned up, we called and were told that there's a delay. No reason and we have to wait 72 hours for update. Have been told that it could be several weeks before we get the couch but that's no guarantee. Now I've no couch as my old one was taken to the tip. So so disappointed and frustrated!! Never using Harvey's again. "

"They arranged my delivery and never turned up even though they said they did however i was in the house, no 30 min call before hand or a knock on the door. 2nd attempt a week later they never turned up i was waiting all day and called their customer service 3 times the 1st and 2nd time they said we was there next stop then the 3rd time we got told delivery had failed. With no reason. Then i got a unexpected knock on the door at 7.35am next day with two men from harveys delivering my dining set. What if i wasnt in? I had work later that morning. The two men came in and made me feel uneasy talking in a foreign language and laughing to themselves. Then they asked for a knife to open my boxes with my delicate glass and cushions in. And then they asked to leave the huge boxes in my back garden. My dining tables lovely but not happy with the £59 delivery fee and poor service! "

"On the 20th of August my husband and I purchased a sofa and two relaxer chairs. We told the representative that we wished the chairs to come as soon as possible and warned that delivery would be difficult so a small van would be more suitable.  The representative stated this was fine and that we should hear from a delivery company regarding the chairs within 2 weeks. Three weeks later, as we had not heard anything, we called the customer service line who transferred us to GFA. They stated that they had never received the order; Harvey's had not placed it. We went back through to your service team who stated that they would get 'this chased' and we would hear in 48 hours. This was Friday, and as we hadn't heard by Monday night I called again to be told that another email would be sent and to wait a further 48 hours! Following several dead-end conversations with Harvey's team, who told us that the policy had changed since Friday and they were no longer able to call third parties, delivery was finally arranged for the next Friday.  My husband called to check the size of the van and was told someone would get back to him. No one did, so we called again and were told that the delivery had been changed to Monday to accommodate the lane. We were not notified of this, and had we not called ourselves would have been unaware of the rescheduling. No one checked we were available that day, but a day was taken from work. So far one missed delivery day. The chairs came on Monday and although one is not the colour we ordered, we were simply relieved to have received an item which we paid so much money for.  Having called regarding the size of the delivery lorry twice we hoped that this would be taken into account for the sofa. When we called to check, the 'assistant' wasn't sure and said she'd get back to us. Unsurprisingly she didn't, so we called again, we spoke with a different person who confirmed that the delivery company had not been notified and he would do so now. This was Monday afternoon, so it was no surprise to hear from the driver that he drove a 7.5 tonne lorry, one we had stated numerous times would not make it up the lane.  He said he'd get back to us. He did not.  I called the service line again. I was told that the sofa would be sent to store and sent out on a sprinter van that day. No problems at all. I would have a call to confirm later. There was no call. We called AGAIN, another assistant informed us that the lorry would make the drop at store around 7 and the sprinter arranged for tomorrow. Probably.  Having phoned again Wednesday morning, to my horror, the delivery was marked as complete and the sofa had been sent back to the warehouse. Harveys advisor informed me that an email would need to be sent to reverse this erroneous status and someone would be in contact in the next few days to rearrange. Having escalated this matter to a manager, i was told repeatedly that there was nothing to be done, until I mentioned compensation for time lost at work. The manager went to 'see what she could do', came back and stated the status had been chabged and she would call in a few hours to book delievery. Again, no call. My husband called later that day and the status HAD NOT been reversed. No notes were on file and nothing had been done. He managed to convince the assistant to arrange a delivery to the store and liaised with them for a smaller value. Which will hopefully be with us Wednesday. Start to finish a complete joke. "

"Purchased 2 recliners with 5 year warranty, The chairs have losteoporosis Thierry stuffing and the webbing has collapsed, Harvey's say the chairs are over 4 years old, the warranty is for 5! Now they want the uphoster to say that the manufacturers are liable, before they consider the claim. Ombudsman were of no help! So l am not happy!"

"Spent an arm and a leg to purchase a 3 piece suite, 2 arm chairs and a 3 seater. Delivery guys come just before 7am, received a text message 10 minutes before to say they were coming (didn't even have time to brush my teeth)! They came they fixed up the chairs, only to find the three seater they had bought had a middle seat a left seat and another left seat. The delivery guy was on his phone for a while outside my house. Came in to tell us that we need to call back for another delivery date as they've not got a right hand seat, how can they get this wrong????...its been near enough 5 weeks. We were suppose to have guests around for dinner but had to cancel on the day, no where for them or us to sit. Absolutely diabolical! Called customer service team, asked for delivery date...NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!! 😡 Not happy at all! Asked for a good will gesture she said £25 first time round then I said "is that it, after we've spent 2 grand on the order, I don't think so"...she asked her manager and came back to me with compensating me £50, I wouldn't take it, doesn't compensate anything, no Sofa's for 3 days now we have to wait over a week! Annoyed isn't the word!!!"

"Harvey's in my opinion - based on the service or lack of service should I say are a joke! My parents are now on their second replacement sofa which yet again turns out to be substandard and literally falling apart after 2 years. After countless calls and promises to sort something we are STILL waiting. The only reaction we got came after I sent a scathing facebook message which I was shocked to see they accepted onto the page. I will never ever buy anything from this shoddy company again and I am telling anyone and everyone I meet about the experience so as to save others from this sort of service and stress."

"I ordered a corner sofa and cuddler chair in March I waited 2months for delivery, when the delivery was made it was the wrong colour, when calling there customer services the lady was so rude I told her that I got rid of my old sofa she then said we have to leave you something to sit on. I agreed to this, I then asked When the correct sofa was gonna be delivered I was told 42days wait, I couldn't believe what I was hearing I'm paying all this money and I waited 4months for the correct sofa. I made so many calls to there customer services to sort out compensation they offered me £59 delivery back!!! I then emailed there CEO which he disk to even reply back himself it was someone from there customer services offering me £150 compensation and it was there final offer, as I felted pressured I called them and said I would accept it, it's now been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting for a cheque.. If I could have cancelled by ordered I would have done and gone else where... I would not recommend Harvey's to anyone.. "

"Abysmal customer service from the store in Uddingston. Continually had to resend my evidence to the customer services VIP team as the staff changed over. Surely my details should have been held on file, albeit it took 8 months to finally supply goods which were fit for purpose. Inferior quality furniture which is overpriced, so beware"

"I bought a TV unit on 7th July 2016, and the day after, when we went to collect it from the store, the employee who was helping us take it out to our car pushed the trolley too hard and it scratched the top of the unit against the door. We said we didn't want it, and the store manager told us they'd contact us in a couple of days to do the refund. I don't know why I didn't insist on the refund there and then to be honest, but I really didn't think it would be an issue. It has taken until yesterday, 24th August 2016 p, for the store to refund me. I've never experienced such incompetent, apathetic and underhand customer service as I have with Harveys. The store were telling me the refund had been done, and that I should check with my bank as it must be their issue! The refund had never been done, and I was then told a cheque had been sent to me, even though I had never agreed to having a cheque. The cheque never arrived, and I was told I couldn't have the refund on my card until they had stopped the cheque! As soon as I started to tweet and post on Facebook, a social media team got involved, which to me suggested they just didn't want the public knowing how bad they are. It still didn't sort out the issue. I formally complained on 29/7, and never even had an acknowledgement. I complained to Steinhoff International on 20th August and they haven't even acknowledged my email either. I suppose I'm lucky as the item I had purchased wasn't really essential, and it didn't cost a lot, compared with other furniture, but even so, this company had my money for 7 weeks!! They stole from me, and don't think it's appropriate to compensate me. I wouldn't recommend Harveys to anyone. Buy your furniture from somewhere else. You are very likely to be ripped off!!"

"Worse experience and customer service ever It has taken 8months to receive my sofa and one part was the wrong colour and had to wait 4weeks for a replacement. When the replacement come it was wrong again and had two of the same wrong items in my house. The driver would not taken away so had to drive it down to my local harveys and delivery the wrong item back to them and still waiting for a replacement. Would never order a sofa from them again. After 4 wrong colour items that still ant got my sofa right to what I ordered till this day . I have given up on them as I am sick of ring and waiting on hold for them to pick up and when they do its the same old rubbish we will send out another one . Well ok but this means me of my wife has to take time off work and loose money waiting for them to show up late or sometime not at all. So we payed £2599 for a safe and it still is not matching the rest of the sofa . It should be a light brown . But I have one part of the sofa light brown and the other part dark brown ."

Called customer services and within 15 mins of the drivers leaving I was told me the drivers would turn back and deliver the undamaged portion of of our order. 4 hours later no delivery, so I called customer services to be told our order is back at the warehouse!
